A Land Rover - fresh off the desert? Driven by some kind of adventurer? a hero? Is that woman in trouble? Sounds like a movie.
That's exactly what London Film is. A movie set- Picadilly Circus - an exciting drama is unfolding.
Many of Authouart's friends have Land Rovers and they're always asking him to put their cars in his paintings. Becoming interested in these vehicles, Authouart did some research, discovering the different European models available... Ranch Rover, Discovery, Defender and some older models used as emergency vehicles by the fire department and other emergency services.
While in London making some sketches at, he saw a Defender, dusty and dirty as if just from the desert. Driving a Land Rover, he was thinking, "the people must imagine you have just returned from Africa and that you are some kind of hero." He envisioned an image of many Land Rovers, dusty and dirty. It seemed a perfect set for a movie.
Authouart has always had a love of movies and the theater. He has, in fact, designed many theater sets in Europe.
