From the time Authouart was a very young boy, he has always had a sketchbook in his pocket. Several times each day, he takes it out and jots down a few notes and drawings on whatever subject happens to strike his fancy at the moment.
Some time ago, talking about Elvis Presley, he remembered the first time he had heard Elvis' songs. It was at a local fun fair in the late 1950s. He was coming home from night classes and decided to stop at the fair and treat himself to a couple of laps on his favorite ride - bumper cars. From the loudspeaker he could hear the exciting new sound: It's all right mama...
Remembering back to this time, he took a look through his old sketchbooks and was very excited to find some drawings from 1958, of the occasion. It was funny to see the look of the old bumper cars from the '50s.
Authouart used these sketches, 33 years later, to help create Bumper Cars.
