The history of the Porsche is a long and storied one. From the original Porsche, the 356, displayed here, vertically in the glass showcase, to the present day Boxster, Porsche has always been an icon of excellence and performance. The 550 Spyder was the vehicle for James Dean's fatal ride. The 911 is arguably the all time classic sports car.
The Porsche 356, which first made an appearance in 1948, was so called because it was the 356th state in the search for just the right automobile design. This design remained relatively unchanged until the legendary 911 came along in 1965.
The French word for a Porsche enthusiast is Porschiste. If you are a Porschiste, how many of the models in this piece can you identify?
